Tokyo — VicOne, a leading automotive cybersecurity solutions provider, is happy to announce that it is expanding its partnership with Block Harbor, in which it announced an investment in early 2023. As part of this expansion, VicOne will strengthen its security service business for the Japanese market, including its Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) and ISO/SAE 21434 compliance as well as penetration testing services.
This partnership will enable broader support for VicOne’s Japanese customers in their automotive cybersecurity initiatives. By bringing Block Harbor’s services, VicOne further delivers on providing end-to-end solutions for their customers.
How the partnership came about
VicOne has been providing cybersecurity solutions for the entire automotive supply chain. Throughout this process, the company received numerous inquiries regarding support for TARA, which is conducted before the actual implementation of automotive cybersecurity measures, as well as regarding penetration testing, which is conducted before the development and release of connected car systems. To meet these customer needs, this partnership with Block Harbor, a company VicOne has been partnering with primarily in North America, came about, to enhance TARA and penetration testing services for the Japanese market.

Block Harbor has extensive experience providing hundreds of engagements for TARA and penetration testing services, particularly for automotive companies in North America, working with dozens of automakers and suppliers. Through this enhanced partnership, VicOne will leverage Block Harbor’s expertise in the cybersecurity industry to deliver high-quality TARA and penetration testing services tailored to the Japanese market.
VicOne will take the lead in customer engagement and act as the primary point of contact in Japan, while working closely with Block Harbor to provide hands-on support for TARA and penetration testing. Once initial success is established, Block Harbor will bring their cutting edge platform, the Vehicle Security Engineering Cloud (VSEC), to Japan with VicOne. VicOne will be able to offer comprehensive support for its customers’ automotive cybersecurity initiatives.
Furthermore, moving forward, VicOne will continue to partner with leading companies across various industries to help protect vehicles, drivers, and data against evolving cyber-attacks.
