Trustonic and VicOne launch new layered defense solution to significantly boost automotive cybersecurity

DETROIT and TOKYO, April 14, 2026— VicOne, an automotive cybersecurity solutions leader, and pioneering cyber security business, Trustonic, have extended their strategic partnership with the launch of a new and advanced layered defence solution to significantly boost automotive cybersecurity.

Combining VicOne’s award-winning xCarbon Intrusion Detection or Prevention System (IDS/IPS) – enhanced with edge AI detection that correlates vehicle data and security events across multiple ECUs to transform raw signals into actionable insights – with Kinibi, Trustonic’s Trusted Execution Environment [TEE], this new technical triad enhances threat detection, data integrity and autonomous response capabilities directly at the ECU [Electronic Control Unit] level.

Building on the success of the cutting-edge IDPS Trusted Application launched by Trustonic and VicOne in 2023, this newly synergised IDPS, TEE and Edge AI tech solution offers resilient, intelligent and privacy-preserving cyber security architecture for software-defined vehicles worldwide.

Andrew Till, General Manager of Secure Platform for Trustonic, explained: “Kinibi, xCarbon and xCarbon Edge AI all bring advanced technologies to the table that not only complement one another but also aid in protecting the automotive sector from ever-evolving cyber security threats. Where Kinibi offers secure, isolated execution, IDPS provides in-vehicle detection and Edge AI delivers intelligent analysis – showcasing how the three successfully work together to deliver advanced, embedded security designed to protect connected vehicles of today, tomorrow and beyond.”

William Dalton, VP and Managing Director for North America and Europe from VicOne, added: “By combining xCarbon’s edge-based detection intelligence with Trustonic’s hardware-rooted trust, we are advancing a new benchmark for ECU-level protection. This collaboration delivers more than integrated technology. It establishes a secure execution and response framework that the broader automotive ecosystem can build upon as vehicles evolve.”

Headquartered in the UK, Trustonic embeds world-leading trusted cybersecurity technology into smart devices and connected vehicles, enabling OEMs to build on robust foundations to secure revenue and power innovation.

Having obtained the World’s first comprehensive EAL5+ certification for its Trusted Execution Environment [TEE] technology ‘Kinibi’ in May 2022, Trustonic’s secure platform is now deployed to over 2 billion smart devices and 20 million vehicles globally, with zero safety violations.

Established in 2022, VicOne delivers a broad portfolio of cybersecurity software and services for the automotive industry, designed to secure, and scale with the specialized demands of the modern vehicle.
